Are you prepared for a pet emergency? You can buy a kit or make your own. Even some minimal supplies can save your pet till it can get to the vet ! This is not an ad, I don't sell things, just suggesting a good idea.

ebay has some for sale or you can google pet first aid kit or dog first aid kit and find several. I would probably buy one and add to it.
My friend's kit helped us stabilize my dog's 2 broken front legs till we got to the emergency vet. The vet was impressed we'd done such a good job setting the legs for him.

It is a good idea. I've had one for years and keep it stocked with gauze, tape, vet-flex, antiobiotic creams, scissors, thermometer, sterile pads, Variton cream and Rescue Remedy. There's been many a time I've needed it.

I don't have a pet first aid kit. I'd never seen them on sale in pet shops so just assumed there was no such thing.
(I hadn't thought about taking the "human first aid kit" either though tbh!!)
I've always had the vet's number in my mobile phone, but I suppose he'd be able to be more use if I had something with me that I could at least patch up my GH until he got proper medical attention.
Thanks for the posting! VERY useful.

Not specifically. I do have items on hand that are for my dogs. These include benedryl, hydrogen peroxide, baby aspirin and this is very important and something every dog owner should have, this book: "Dog Owner's Home Veterinary Handbook" by Delbert G. Carlson DVM and James M. Giffin, MD. It is a 423 page hard bound book with excellent content.

Yeah, it is a good idea and I wish I had one for my new puppy. Are there actually Pet First Aid Kits? If there is, could you give me a place to buy one. Anyways, we are going traveling this summer and might take the puppy, I didn't think of a P.F.A.K. (lol). Thanks for making the idea.

Have carried one in the trunk of my car for 20 years. Filled out by the vet and restocked anually for expired items by the same vet. I work with detection dogs and accidents, although rear, do happen. Better ready then sorry.

It's a very good idea - I'm starting to stock up on gauze, medical tape, and the like just in case.

I got one pet and one for me as well!
I am trying to train my dog to perform first aid, but she feels whenever I do stupid things, pain is God's way of telling me to smarten the hell up.

I do not have one. I have pet-specific antibiotic cream, for scratches and minor wounds, but that's about it. It's all I ever had to use.
