What should I bring? The Birthday girl likes really, really sweet things (but not chocolate) and really really salty things. Any great ideas??

No great ideas here, but cupcakes are quite popular just now. They're also very easy to handle in a non-traditional setting (no plate, knife, fork, etc.)

Dipped pretzels aren't hard, if you use big pretzels. I had one friend would take those huge pretzel sticks -- about as big around as your forefinger -- and dip them (about 3/4 of the way up) in melted chocolate then roll them in sprinkles. These really aren't difficult to do, but are unusual and delicious. White chocolate is my favorite for these. You can get candy melts at any good crafts store, or use 'bark.' Chocolate chips may be a bit thick for this when melted. Wrap each one with plastic wrap once they've cooled. These look and taste expensive, but really aren't.

Crunch -n- munch is a good combo of sweet and salty. You can get the kind w/ the nuts in them. (or are there nuts in all of them? hmmmm).

Personally, I like cupcakes. You could take some cupcakes and a bag of pretzles. Voila!

(sorry - I know those are not the greatest ideas, but I'm at a loss here)

Mix a bag of chex mix with a bag of frosted animal crackers... you get the salty and sweet in a snack.

Unless, you're supposed to bake something.

Ice cream cake from carvel/dairy queen.. If that fails bring cupcakes and one especially for her with happy birthday on it. That way you won't have to cut a cake..
