in this day and age, being obsessive about hand washing is a good thing. I'll wager you rarely get a cold. As for having the blinds all the same etc, yes, that smacks of OCD, but as long as it is not interfering with your activities of daily living, as long as it isn't preventing you from being happy, then I wouldn't worry about it. There are varying degrees of OCD, and guess what, to some extent, everyone has it. You need only worry if it starts to interfere with your ability to be happy and live your life. For instance, I had a client once who was exhausted, could not sleep, because she had to constantly get up to make sure the door was locked, even tho she did it almost every hour thru the night and cognitively knew the door was locked, her OCD was so bad it drove her to do it repeatedly.

I dated a guy with OCD, you do have some of the signs but I would check with your doctor or go see a pyschiatrist to make a definate diagnosis. Also I know if you do have OCD it's not going to help because I know the mind frame of people with OCD doesn't change just by a fact but hand sanitizer actually makes your hands dirtier, not only does hand sanitizer kill bad bacteria but also the good bacteria that you need on your hands to fight off sicknesses, and diseases. If that fact does change your mind about hand sanitizer then you probably don't have OCD, only medication can make you less anal about things like that.

A analysis of OCD could require better than only that one habit (my boyfriend and my daughter the two have it and it somewhat is defined by extremely some relatively complicated behaviors). nonetheless OCD might nicely be characterised partly by a germ phobia, it sounds like your son in all possibility had a foul adventure and could be somewhat compulsive approximately that one habit. have you ever tried permitting him to apply disposable latex gloves for a short on a similar time as to be certain if that makes him experience 'air purifier' and moist bathing room tissues to do a much better activity? i comprehend it sounds somewhat obtainable, yet a container of those gloves and the moist paper next to the bathroom that he can use might assure him he won't get feces on him, then he will wipe better, and you are going to be waiting to interrupt the cycle after which you would be able to slowly do away with the gloves. surely better than being 8 and having mom wipe your butt, precise? Does he teach the different compulsive behaviors? Touching products, lining issues up, strolling in a undeniable course each and all of the time, compulsively washing his arms all day, and so on? If it somewhat is just one element, the potty difficulty, it somewhat is occurring, i think of you could wreck this by giving him some possibilities. sturdy success.

Only a Dr. can give you a diagnoses. I have OCD and some of your habits seem to fall in to that category but you need to go see a Dr. so you can seek therapy IF you do have OCD. As far as your peers are concerned....try not to worry about what others think. I hope things get better for you~

you could be borer-line, but you could be a very organized and clean person.
there is nothing wrong with either one.
as long as you do not let it take control over you.
YOU are the one in control, remember that. YOU are the one that decides : what to eat, when to clean your clothes, how to organized your room and when to go to the supermarket.
Keep it under control ... by saying: I could do this, "in another moment", .... "is this really necessary" ... or "can this be done latter"? Easy.... ask that question to yourself that before you do something that you think is an OCD act.
It would help you.
Good luck. :-)

It is quite possible that you may have a combination of OCD and anxiety disorder. I suggest you ask your parents to take you to a psychiatrist to get a full diagnosis. You did the right thing asking about it, now the next step is to get a doctor to diagnose it.

I am also OCD, maybe not as bad as you are, but you do have this disorder, the only way to get through it is through counseling, and even then, all of the symptoms dont go away, but it does help, alot.

Not necessarily. A compulsion doesn't make you OCD. If you are concerned, go see a counselor, but be prepared. If they believe you are OCD, the medications can get excessive. (believe me) If it is not interfering with your life, don't be overly concerned.

i don't think you have OCD, but you do seem to be a little anal about stuff. try relaxing a little and not letting little stuff stress you out so much! slow down a little, or life will pass you by!!
