Because a lot of them work in construction. They also wait there looking to get hired for odd jobs.

There are usually many people who appear to be Hispanic hanging around in the Home Depot parking lot because they are seeking "day employment" with a contractor. Contrary to popular belief these guys do work for a fairly decent wage. They know their worth. The benefit to most contractors is not having to pay taxes on either end, or workers comp or any of the other benefits their full time employees have. Also, I did mention that they "appear" to be Hispanic. If you look a lot of those guys are Laotian, or Polynesian of some sort. Dark skin, dark hair and high cheek bones doesn't automatically mean Hispanic.

First off did you mean Spanish or Mexican? Big difference. Are we Americans or Canadians? There are a ton of Mexican workers in all types of jobs that Home Depot would have supplies for. I.E. Contractor, Framers, Gardener, Construction Worker, etc. Secondly what you are probably talking about is a place for illegal immigrants (they aern't all Mexican) to get hired to do jobs. Since they can't "legally" be employeed they do small odd jobs in order to feed their families.

They're aren't Spanish...Spaniards come from Spain.. The people that you see at Home Depot are illegal aliens from south of the border. And they are there because they are trying to get construction work for cash "under the table".

My ex-husband went there allot (he's Mexican) and he went there for everything that he needed. He never made no $5.00 an hour though. He made more money then a college graduate. And so did the men that worked for him. I'd rather let someone Hispanic build my home then someone who only works until 5 in the afternoon or someone that's going to be drinking on the job. Hispanics know the meaning of hard work. They don't drink on the job or go to work high. All Americans are concerned about now-a-days is how the Hispanic people get here. They need jobs just like us. And they don't get paid cheap wages like everyone thinks.

To take Jobs Americans won't do so they can send money to their family's over 2,000 miles away( I'm in NY) to help them and try to educate their children so they don't have to do this. I'm a Red, White and Blue American and all the BS about illegal immigrants taking away our jobs is a load of bunk. Farm field hands, day labor, road side vegetable stands, yeah all jobs Americans are clamoring for. Don't forget, except for native American Indians we are all illegal immigrants or descendant of one.

For the same reason there is so much construction material at Home Depot. It's where people go when they need help to build something.

They are working for a contractor or sub contractor and are picking up supplies for construction sites. Home Depot is a favorite of contractors. because just about everything is in stock.

hmmm, not many spanish neighborhoods in america. you sure you don't mean mexican? if so, those folks are probably looking for some kind of work.
this is not an odd situation. what is odd is all these people whining about not having jobs because of all the illegals here. how many of them do you see hanging out actively looking for employment?

For one, the undocumented immigrants, (a polite, politically correct way of stating it), are the ones performing a lot of the lower income based labor jobs in the communitities. They need to go into hardware stores to purchase their supplies and tools for the jobs.
White, Caucasian, english speaking legal immigrants are becoming a minority in today's world.
If illegal immigrants paid taxes, got drivers licenses, auto insurance, and just respected our beautiful states more by not trashing it, and depleting our medical services....well heck they could speak any language they wanted!
