There is no ecology of outerspace...as far as we know.

There is astrobiology or exobiology. These are the folks looking for signs of life on other planets. In a sense, this could be ecology in the broadest terms. Most of the research in this field is done on earth in extreme environments, like hydrothermal vents or hot springs.

Since ecology is the scientific study of the distribution and abundance of living organisms and how the distribution and abundance are affected by interactions between the organisms and their environment, there is no ecology in space because there are no living organisms in space.
