I wash with baking soda; use about a half teaspoon, and a pump of facial cleanser, then wash as usual. This makes a good exfoliating scrub. Eventually it'll have an effect on blackheads, but it's better to use baking soda wash as a preventative measure.

Baking soda will exfoliate the skin and will remove some of the blackheads. Blackheads form when the debris clogging the pore oxidizes. I've used a hairpin to remove them.

A paste of baking soda & water rubbed gently over your face will help exfoliate & keep pores clear.
I've tried it & it does help but I prefer to use other methods. (i.e. Aveeno Positively Radiant Daily Cleansing Pads, Avon Microdermabrasion face scrub)
Swabbing your face w/ a cotton pad soaked in hydrogen peroxide will help bleach the tops of the black heads but some people find it irritating. I've done this & it did help but it also dried out my skin.
Benzoyl peroxide & salicylic products will help clear blackheads too. Neutrogena is the most reliable brand across the board. (Their Clear Pore Cleanser/Mask has clay & b.p. I like to use it as a mask instead of a cleanser.)

I mix it into my cream cleanser to exfoliate with. Then I would apply a deep pore strip to the affected area. I would then tone and apply a light moisturizer.
