no longer quite. it truly is continuously alright to have one glass of wine or something yet oftentimes it truly is no longer a superb idea. Alcohol is a depressant and it truly is in basic terms counteracts the antidepressants. I had a foul journey ingesting on Lexapro. I drank 2 BOTTLES of champagne and a 32 oz..of beer and that i awakened the subsequent day to a comfortable seizure and the DTs. My well-being care service advised me it grow to be because my liver function grow to be compromised simply by Lexapro and the alcohol affected me otherwise. I had terrible withdrawals from it. be careful and do not drink too a lot.

I've been taking antidepressant for several years and I don't believe alcohol has affected my recovery. I take mine in the morning since its not really a good idea to drink soon after you take your meds. The only problem I have is when I forget to take them!

alcohol is a KNOWN DEPRESSANT, what do you suppose happens when you take an antidepressant and then drink? Alcohol negates the benefit of the medication, it's as simple as that. Anyone that says or thinks otherwise is in denial, and is not getting better.

Don't drink while you're on antidepressants. If you look at your bottle of meds, it probably says so. That's an easy way to O.D. If alcohol has been a problem for you, you should call your doctor if feel like drinking. Could be your meds need to be adjusted and you're subconsciously trying to self-medicate. Check in with your doctor, just to be safe.

Alcohol is itself a depressant, so, yes, it does interfere with recovery or in dealing with depression. It can be tricky because it may make you feel great for a while, but inevitably you will feel toe down side of alcohol. It also may interfere chemically with your medications. Check with your doctor and good luck.

Alcohol is a depressant. It counteracts the antidepressant point by point.

Also, the mixture of the two is often lethal. They don't say, "Don't drink alcohol with these" for nothing!

Alcohol is a depressant. If you take it along with another drug, the effect is worse. If you're already depressed, then you shouldn't be taking alcohol. If you're not depressed, then you shouldn't be on an antidepressant.

Yes, it hurts your recovery.

you would be better off of the antidepressants before your body becomes reliant on them. Try getting a massage....i guarentee that you will feel 100 times better for less the amount of the prescribed drug.
