We are not the subject, ideas are. We represent ideas, like lawyers represent clients, and we are supposed to represent them as if they are correct, to the best of our ability. We are lawyers that get to choose our clients, and we are often emotionally involved in defending them, but we are supposed to act like they are right. We are advocates.
