Examine the beliefs of the religions and find one that matches your own.

Whatever it is, be darned sure that you can still believe in it a couple years down the road when the other members are no longer "love-bombing" you. Really, I'd say just skip it. Or join a liberal, tolerant religion like Ethical Culture or the Unitarians. You'll still have a place to go on Sunday mornings, and a group of people to support you, but you'll never get "shunned" for deciding that the world is 8,000 years old rather than 6,000, or for wearing "worldly" pink sneakers that might lead to dancing, or whatever.

Miss Green,
If you are intending to "join a group" i would suggest that you do a little study to find out who has the TRUTH and Follow their Leader. I am a Christian and I would be glad to study with you or find a group of people who live near you that have a Bibl3e Study in process. Just drop a note to me and I will be glad to respond at any time. Have a wonderful week.
Thanks,
Eds, A Non-Denominational Christian

.
EDIT:
The original Christian Church was NOT Catholic. It was called the Church of GOD or the Chhurch of CHRIST. It is CHRIST's CHURCH NOT man's as the Catholics are following. GOD sent HIS SON and CHRIST's Apostles to leave a message for our pattern. That pattern is NOT the Catholic Church at all! Read, study, obey, and you will see.

BIG SUPER,
I am Non-Denominational and I attend services each and every week. We follow the New Testament Scriptures and use GOD's WORD to lead us in HIS CHURCH.
Thanks,
Eds

only you can decide that, if I suggest a name of any group to you, it'll just be following it by instructions or logic.. I mean I've been looking for this also &I've seen & come across lots of organisations (some religious, some spiritual) , all of different beliefs (well, not really but different ways of praying & customs) & all good & beautiful.
That doesn't mean I can join all of them eg I couldn't be a Buddhist & Christian at the same time.

So the thing I'd do is ask God for guidance to a religion or group which is for yours (& everyone's) highest good & which will bring you closer to Him.
Feel for what resonates with you & brings you to Truth...makes your heart sing...

I think Jainism is a good religion, but I don't think there are many women jains, I think they do not count women as equals that is the bad point, but the good point is respecting all life and not killing or injuring another living being. I apologise to any jains out there if I got the women thing wrong.

Keep on bieng an athiest or secularist maybe? if it's a church though there's the Flying Spaghetti Monster

I think we can all look forward to the time when these three theories are given equal time in our science classrooms across the country, and eventually the world; One third time for Intelligent Design, one third time for Flying Spaghetti Monsterism, and one third time for logical conjecture based on overwhelming observable evidence."”

I was raised a Catholic but didn't agree with the teachings of the catholic church so i lost religion for a long time. Then i started reading the bible and became a non-denominational Christian which means that i live my life according to Christian values. I'm so much happier now.

Good Luck!!

Why not mention Jehovahs Witnesses? Do you know anything about them besides the fact they come to your door on saturdays? We come to giv you a bible thought or something that you can read along with your bible if you have one and if you dont we will gladly give u one. We dont pass any collection plates for any funds, you dont have to pay for anything, money is voluntary. You dont have to pay for a baptizm or to get married. We dont sell our literature. We believe that there is one god that created all and that he has a son named jesus christ. This is not a recommendation, Just a Thought.....www.watchtower.org

Buddhism is very cool.

I also think Wicca is neat if you have a belief in a higher power.

Quakers are cool if you want something Christian.

It all depends on what you believe.

None! people need religion to fill a gap in there life and to use as a safety net when something goes wrong and they cant handle life, why would you need that? I'm a strong person and if needed i will lean upon my friends that i can see and i know who will help me, religion is a man made self righteous load of c**p that plays with people's minds. I know i'm guna offend some people but that's my opinion, who wants to give their lives and beliefs to something you cant see???? Get real friends and a life.
