It's only county jail. Not the state penn. She gonna be a pain the the as s & the system knows this, so they are giving her the minimum to make a point. She'll most likely have YEARS of community service. Big stars do commercials that are geared towards their underaged fans in an attempt to show themselves & be a role model of what you should not want to become. Yeah, right. What a joke. She's most likely already getting her doctors perscription for an extra mattress & a pillow because she will suddenly have a medical condition that warrants this! She can also request a special diet if her doctor says she needs it. She's gonna be a pain. She'll probably get lock-down & spend the 45 days alone with 3 meals being passed through the cell door. Shel'll be a repeat offender. Her family will rush her into a rehab situation...watch! She will be far too ill to go & wah wah wah. It's just gonna turn into a sitcom. Oh, goody. The Judge needs to be investigated. Actually, it's the D.A.'s call in our state & the Judges just sign the paperwork! Or it at least seems to be that way!

Yes, I do feel that Paris Hilton's 45 day sentence is not only valid and justified, but long overdue.
If you or I had committed the traffic violations that she is accused of, we wouldn't even get until June to get our affairs in order and then report for the jail sentence. The cuffs would be put on right there in court, and we'd be hauled away like branded cattle.
It's time that ignorant (in the sense of unaware of the reality), young people like you ( I assume) understand that celebrities should pay the same price for the crimes they committ that could endanger not only themselves but the lives of other innocent unsuspecting drivers.
I don't care personally what color, race, religion, age or celebrity status one is...."if you do the crime, you should do the time."
Someday when you have children, and a drunk driver kills your child and they just happen to be a "Paris Hilton" type of status, I think it won't much matter to you at that point.
It's judges such as the one who handed down Paris Hilton's sentence, that would get my vote if they were running for a seat in the senate.
You will find a lot of people will feel the same way. I like you, am entitled to my opinion.
I can only hope and pray that a 45 day jail sentence within the normal population will teach her a lesson to get her affairs in order before she gets behind the wheel again. Maybe she'll even become a public speaker on the safety of following the rules of the road and becoming a responsible driver.
I wish her the best in her well deserved journey.

She isn't just going to jail for driving on a suspended license. She was previously arrested for drunken driving, and she was on probation. She violated her probation. I think what she got was appropriate. She thinks that she shouldn't have gotten jail time, but how many times does she have to get caught breaking the law and violating her probation before she gets the idea that she's not above the law just because she's a spoiled little rich girl? Maybe the 45 days will be enough to knock it into her head that she's expected to follow the rules just like everyone else. Maybe it'll put a little scare into her. 45 days isn't that bad. She'll get through it.

From what I can tell she was not only driving on a suspended license. She also had a DWI, and was caught driving without her headlights. I agree 45 days is a little steep for the suspended license. These celebs need to be treated like all other people though.

Paris Hilton is a joke, she is a twit. I hope she does get behind bars, she is not above the laws of this land just because she has $$$$$$$$$$. What an absolute waste of oxygen. She could use her fame and statue in life (as well as her money) to do so much good in this world and all she is is a selfish, self-centered, arrogant egotistical twit.
And that is my two cents

she's going to jail for violating the terms of her probation for DUI by driving on a suspended license. if you violate probation you can be sent to jail.
personally, i don't think she should be separated from the rest of the population, as she is not above the law. but when your rich and famous...
