I don't think God is cruel because I don't think he exists. However, it's quite reasonable to point out a logical fallacy when theists proclaim he's loving and merciful and the bible shows him to be a sadistic butcher.

Which, being no existent, he isn't. It's just the people who committed these horrors in his name who are.

the questions asked by atheists seem to give God a bad character such as being cruel for genocides in the bible... how can you think he is bad or unjust if he doesn't exist?
