The most common criticism of megachurches is that they draw members away from smaller churches. The vast majority of North American church-goers attend small churches of fewer than 200.[

Critics of megachurches claim that such churches are more concerned with entertainment than religion, earning them the nickname "Disney Church". Rev. Al Sharpton has claimed that such churches focus on personal morality issues while ignoring social justice.
I disagree Jesus said trust no man but trust in christ I go to mega Church and the Pastor even said go to other churches to support them. I look at it this way if you are helping to incrase the kindom of God What wrong?
The sad part Christin are saying such negitive thing to other and that is not the way of christ we shall love each other and If you fill it wrong PRAY!

It's nice that you've found something that works for you. If you draw spiritual strength from your megachurch, then by all means, keep going. I prefer medium to smaller sized churches, personally, but that's just me.

Up until I moved two years ago I attended two nearby mega churches. And you are correct the mega churches do draw people away from the smaller churches.

Even though, to be honest, most mega churches really don't try to do that on purpose.

It happens cause the Pastor at the mega church is a better preacher than the smaller church Pastor.

Guess what occurs when a small church gets a great preacher for a Pastor?

It grows into a Mega Church.

Not the Most common: The most Common is that the Bigggest are really dealing with the "Give me 10 Dollars and God will turn it into 100 Dollars" formula; And about 5 Main Preachers were the instigators of that Teaching, and they will have a lot to answer for in some way

I agree with the criticisms. Mega-churches are nothing more than Christian entertainment. Communities are meant to be small. Where we can care for one another. Both inside and outside of the church.

I sometimes Watch Joel Olsten, he is O.K.

But to me, all this is "Church light", it is heavy on feeling good, singing, waving hands, and accepting ourselves, and a little lacking when it comes to the "Exactly how does God want me to lead my life." Plain and simple, if I need to amend my ways to get to heaven then I need to be told that.

It might not make me feel as good, but I go to Church to Worship God, not be entertained.

The only other complaint is I wonder what those people do when they have a funeral or wedding? Joel Olsten has 20,000 people in the Church? How can he really minister to each one when needed?

I'll stay where I am.

Peace and God Bless!

Is there an actual question here? Why should the size of an individual church or denomination even matter as long as The Church founded by Christ continues.......

Is this a question? It sounds like religious spam to me. good for you, you answered your own question!
I've read the bible and it's just a book man. Just a book. Has it gotten up on 2 legs and fed the hungry? Has it sheilded anyone from a bullet? If so, please give me some info. The only thing mine does is collect dust.

maximum of them are stemmed by potential of racism and parroted from hate radio and Fox. there is little to confirm the claims so race must be the using stress. i'm surprised on the quantity of hate that is in the Republican occasion immediately. i'm ashamed of their habit and area of me wonders why our President could even help them in any respect. Heck i contemplate whether they don't need to stay in the dirt and greed and bigotry that they have got created. i'm purely not keen to flow down with them and that they are going to be in charge whilst all-time low comes.
