I personally like the blues. You want to avoid white and clear, because they stain. Yellow may make your teeth appear yellowish.

The o-ties (the colored "bands") hold the wire into the bracket. When they are removed the wire comes right out.

You will be sore 2-3 days when they change your wires. Just take an over-the-counter pain reliever until the soreness eases up.

I've seen a website called archwired.com that seems to have some really good pictures and explanations.

You can email me if you want to..... I've been an orthodontic assistant for 6 years and I had braces for 4 years as a teen.

1. The colors I think look best are red and blue. They're awesome!

2. All it is is just one wire going across your mouth. On you next visit or so, they will take the wire out, snip off the ends, and place it back in, and you get to pick new colors for rubber bands to hold it in place.

3. They will hurt for a few days, and could even last up to a whole week. Just eat soft foods and be careful when chewing. Sometimes, I get carried away with chewing, and I would bite down really hard, and that KILLS.

1. Colours, usually silver or you can get others - I had clear ones on my front teeth.
2. The wires are held in by tiny elastic bands, which are snipped off when the wires need changing (not every visit). Its more of a tweak/tightening up.
3. Hurts for a day or so, but it's more like an ache
