If so, what does the massage therapist do? Do they get upset and offended? If getting aroused is a normal thing, then I assume they tell you that it is completely normal and then ignor it. I have heard that some reputable massage therapists will massage you until you climax in order to get you to fully relax. Then They continue on to the rest of the massage.

I have also heard stories of the happy ending, but I assume that happens in "massage parlors". (not what I'm looking for!)

I'm not trying to be a pervert, I honestly don't know that aswer to this question and any non-judgemental aswer will be very much appreciated. I would very much like to have a massage, but don't know what to expect.

To follow-up...I am very well endowed and I'm nervous that the massage therapist will walk out the session and that would be very embarrassing.

First you need to understand that with a full body massage, the purpose is to relax the muscles and increase blood circulation. And by increasing blood circulation, the chances of getting a semi erection is pretty good. If it happens, just acknowledge that the therapist is doing his/her job and try to get your mind on other things. Focus on the technique and sense how the muscles are relaxing.

Happy endings at legit places aren't the norm. It can bring legal troubles and that could lead to the therapist getting fired. I am not saying it doesn't happen, but it is not the norm.

Also one stated that only the back is massaged. Most full body sessions will also do the legs, hands, etc (hence the word full body) so you will be on both your stomach and back. Each therapist is different, but most I have had start with you on your back to get your thighs and feet and hands. Then flip over to do your other side. The result is during the first portion, the blood isn't flowing as well and when you flip to your stomach, the results aren't so evident.

Bottom line is enjoy the massage and if you get aroused, then so be it. The therapist has seen it before and won't be offended.

It's not common, but it can happen. I am a massage therapist and I teach at a massage school - not many stories of it happening. But if it does happen the therapist should act within his or her boundaries...for some that might be ending the session, for others it might be ignoring it and some may step out of the room. As for encouraging a climax, I can't say that is professional and would probably not be acceptable by a "reputable therapist". Actually, the therapist can lose his/her license in some states for having any contact with the genitals.

I manage a massage therapy office on the weekends. The female therapists in my office find that this happens a lot and is common amongst male clientelle. The therapist will ignore it. Some male clients apologize for it, others don't say a word. For the most part, it is ignored. If the therapist feels jeopardized in any way, they can walk out of the session and refuse treatment. This has not happened in the two years that I have been there.

Additional info: If you are concerned, tell the therapist you prefer not to turn over and would like to remain on your stomach for the duration of the treatment. Problem solved.

Well, the massages I know of are done on your back, which means that you're laying on the stomach. Therefore they wouldn't even know if you were getting aroused.

I've never heard of massage therapists doing that. It seems like that would be a kind of "sexual act" or something.

Don't stay home just because of that. If there's a problem with that, just focus your attention on something else - like something very soothing such as a river flowing. Play around with visualization things, you'll eventually find something you like.

Oh dear - total sexual bias. Give up trying to justify it!! The predatory female has been around for years and will be around for many years yet. You quote research but what about all the other research which is more balanced and probably far more scientific than that you quote. Women would have everyone believe that all child abusers are men. One of the interesting pieces of research which has been well documented is that virtually all sexual abuse to young babies is carried out by the mother!! How did they find out? Video cameras in hospitals watching the child's bed. It is in fact becoming apparrent that in western countries the bias is more towards women cheating than the husbands at the present time with the rise of the ladette culture and so called women's lib. Until women grow up and except that both sexes are just as bad they will find that they are loosing their man!!

First, do not feel that this is a bad thing. It is not. Yes, many men do go through the same when they get a massage. I have gone through it and the person was professional and went on.

Yes it is, but if its a back massage or full body the man is often lying on his front, so the therapist would not know.

Yes, it happens and a professional massage therapist will ignore it. Also, you will most likely be wearing a towel...just securely tighten it around you.
