I find that if you read the Bible and take some time to think about everything that you read, just about everything the pastor might say can be come up with independently. That's actually why I got bored with church myself. Still, there's a lot of support and community that can be found by going to church, if that's what you need at the moment.

They were not redundant when I was a believer. It wasn't until I could sit back as an unbeliever that I realized the redundancy of sermons. Now, knowing what I know, I would have to say that it becomes redundant only when a person gets sick of it and sadly that usually doesn't happen. Most believers are themselves a bit redundant and so thus they are only imitating the redundancy they admire.

The purpose of church service is fellowship and to give those present a chance to obey the Gospel. If it sounds redundant, then it probably is.

To me, they really don't. Even if I'm visiting someone else's church, I usually come away with something that I didn't know when I walked in the door. There is always something new to be learned in every situation, and church is no different.

It doesn't become redundant if you are there for the right reason, which is to learn how to apply it to your life and have a personal relationship with God.

It's easy to feel you're learning the same stuff, but if you listen intently you can easily discover new things you may have missed the 3, 4, or even 5 times you've heard the same lesson. We never stop learning... we continue to progress even after our death

When the Sermon you hear is one you have heard before :-)
Usually.... Or is one that can actually be Bought for a fee off the Internet for those Busy Pastors who cannot find the time to write those fresh, and new sermons, so they buy the pre-packaged, and , of course, re-cycled Sermons :-)

depends on the Pastor.... The Word never becomes redundant... unlike your posts here.... and my own on certain subjects... but I am mortal and not claiming to be expert in The Word.
