I have seen a lot of people lately who wear knee support while running. They look like tight neoprene with a hole for the knee (I'm assuming so it is easier to bend). Would these be beneficial for longer distance running to prevent injury? Thanks.

Gillian, by preventing injury, I also mean damage to the cartilage and joints as well.

im not sure if it can PREVENT injury thats inevitable but it does give great support to the knee while you are running or exercising so you dont strain them.

No, it will not stop an injury. Those who have injuries tend to wear them to gain more support, in hope they do no re-injure the knee. I have supports as I have Arthritis, but they are worn to help protect my joints rather than stop injury.
