I'm trying to understand why people who happily use all the technological benefits of modern civilization are so helplessly and hopelessly ignorant of how science actually works. I'm also trying to understand why people who are supposedly proud to be Americans enjoying the benefits modern democracy believe we should revert to an imaginary dictatorial monarchy and grovel before a non-existent "Lord."

I think partly it's because it's just fascinating that there are people out there who actually believe in some of the blatantly obvious fairy tales - things like Noah's Ark, for example.
Not only that, but it is just amazing that people pick one man-made god out of the bunch and believe in and worship that god, denying all others.
So, partly it's just fun to make fun of these weak-minded fools. Then there is the desire to try and help these people to actually think and see how ridiculous religions and gods are. And finally, and VERY unfortunately, religions affects us all and many in a very negative way. Millions have been murdered, molested, raped, and killed in the name of various religions, and everybody is just pissed off about that fact.

I come here because there are some other smart atheist's that add to my arsenal of knowledge against christianity.
Also a lot of christians with some really retarded answers that confirm my belief that there is no god.
