Go to tools menu and options. Under the grammar settings tab, un-check "captialisation"

When you type and it auto-corrects the first letter to a capital, you'll also see a little blue rectangular box come up under that capital letter. Put the cursor on that box, it kinda changes to a lightning bolt, click it, then click on Undo Automatic Capitalization. You can change it back at any time the exact same way.

You are probably using it like a typewriter and pressing at the end of what you think is each line. Just keep typing, and Word will wrap the lines to create a pageful. If you need to start a new paragraph, that's when you press twice. If you click on the symbol on the toolbar that looks like a thick backwards letter P, you will see all the codes that are hidden in your document. Then press it again to hide them.

If, when typing, you reach the edge of the page and press "enter" as opposed to simply continuing to type, the next line will start with a capital letter. I don't know if that's what you're doing, but Word will take you to the next line automatically, so if you're pressing Enter at the edge of the page, no need to!

Hi Tod
Sounds like you are hitting enter (return key) at the end of each line this makes word think you are starting a new paragraph. If you stop hitting enter word will automatically start a new line when it needs to and won't force a capital letter.

Sounds like you have heading1 or heading2 set for your text rather than normal.
