The US military is the mightiest fighting force know to man. However the question of are they feared raises some interesting other questions. Are they feared because of the shear size of the armed forces ? Or feared because of the technology and Superior firepower they have at their command ? There are small military forces in the world and while they may not have the equipment the US does they are in someways better trained and skilled in certain areas. All in all when its all said and done the US military is feared by its enemy and respected by its allies.

I'm sorry to say we couldn't win against a little country like Vietnam and it's happening again in Iraq. I don't blame the U.S. Army tho'....I blame the civilians in the whitehouse (the chickenhawks) for not sending in enough troops and for extending their tours of duty which is risky and cuts down on their effectiveness.

Do you mean are they fearful of something happening to them or do you mean are they to be feared? I wish people on this site would learn how to articulate a coherent fact.

Lets say if we decide to clobber somebody and all Americans are behind it, our Army can become quite terrifying.
