No you really should not. I had mine done and I drove about a mile down the road I had to pull over and as I was going into the restaurant for some water because I felt light headed I collapsed. Please have someone take you or call a taxi

Yes you can. Three things though 1) You'll look like a chipmunk with your swollen cheeks/jaw. 2) You wont be able to drive as they will make you drowsy. So make sure to be dropped off. 3) You will bleed for a good hour or so after and need to let it form a blood clot. So I hope class is not right after as this will be a little messy. They only give you local anesthetic before pulling out your wisdom teeth. Then they give you some sort of generic vicadin. Just a pain killer but it's strong enough to make your reaction time slower.

If you are having only local anesthetic, you should be fine to drive home if you feel well.
However, if you receive oral sedation such as Valium or Halcion, you MUST have a ride.
These days, many dentists remove teeth without general anesthetic unless the surgery is very complicated. A single wisdom tooth doesn't sound major.
Your dentist should give you pre- and post-operative instructions so you know exactly what you can and can't do.

Okay to drive if having Local anesthetic
NOT OKAY if you are have Sedation---ask you doctor if you are unclear which type of surgery you are having.
The complexity of the surgery usually constitutes what style of surgery you will have.
As Emmalue earlier stated---for simple extractions--local anesthetic--no prob.; for sedation---forget it ---get a ride.
BUT check w/your Doc. AND DON'T break the rules--if they say you need to have a ride--follow their orders EXACTLY please for your safety and others.
Wishing you a non-eventful surgery---heal soon and hope that you're back to perfect soon.
Sincerely, Tina

You can not drive following oral surgery because of the anesthesia used. Call a cab or a friend to pick you up. It wouldn't do you any good to have your tooth removed and kill yourself or someone else on the way home.

If they just use a local anaesthetic, then yes you can drive.
If they also use oral conscious sedation, then no driving for the rest of the day.

not really because once that teeth start to hurt you will be hook on with the teeth and less driving. So I advise you to don't do it.
