My stepfather. I miss him terribly. I was far closer to him than I ever was to my biological parents. He was a true hero to me. This is the man who adopted me after my parents died. He had no children of his own, and took me on just as he was retiring. In other words, he could've had a nice, easy life without having to deal with a troubled kid like me, but he took me in. He opened up whole new worlds for me in terms of education, and gave me opportunities I'd never known existed. I will always be grateful to him for his love, patience, and guidance.
