If you cite figures for total losses in WWII, you'll lose your audience, as it will be beyond their comprehension. Cite losses from specific battles that lasted hours or days. The losses in the whole four years of Iraq pale in comparison to D-Day, Operation Market Garden, The Battle of the Bulge, or even Shiloh or Gettysburg from the American Civil War.

In the iraq war there has been about 3,000 soldiers lost, 320,000 in WW1 and 292,000 in WW2

obviously the answer for deaths in WW1 and WW2 are not as accurate probably because so many people died and it was harder to track people back then.

Throw in that more people are killed in two months in the US from drunk drivers than in the entire Iraq war.

Casualties
WWI 118,000 or so
WWII 456,000 or so
Iraq war 25,000 or so plus another 1,000 or so mercenary contractors.

Rough ball park estimate.
