hmmmm, this one sounds urban mythish to me. I've seen soldiers at attention with knees locked, and they've stood that way for hours and hours, not one ever passed out. Physiologically speaking, locking the knees does NOT curtail circulation , and it does NOT interfere with nerve conduction, so I don't see how one (locking the knees) can lead to the other (passing out).

I just locked my knees and did not pass out. Ask your teachers to demonstrate how that works. It doesn't work around here.

It constricts the blood flow back up your legs and into your brain...thus knocking you out. You need to stand that way for quite a while though.

People in the military are taught to switch the weight on their knees every few minutes in a way that is slight and does not distract from the attention stance.

I have not heard of this particular thing, but I have witnessed a mechanice who accidently slammed a car door on his shins and that knocked him out, as it was explained to me. our brain sends electrical messages through our nerves and as it happens one side of our leg carries negative charges the other positive it they are crossed it will knock you out just like crossing two wires, sounds strange but I was told its true
