You know, because they broke the laws of the land.

Now I know your first reaction would be of course not, thats stupid. Why would God care about a measley speeding ticket..It's not like you robbed a store, murdered anyone, or was caught with drugs...BUT a sin is a SIN...and breaking the laws of the land, no matter how small the offense, is taught to be wrong.

nah....(based on my christian family background) they pray before the cop gets to the door and keep praying until he leaves!....not for forgiveness though.....for the ticket price to be smaller!

I wouldn't know - I've got a pretty good driving record.
But I'm sure if I broke the law by speeding, I would feel bad- imagine the possible consequences of speeding - a horrible wreck, I could be not only putting my life in danger, but that of my family, or whoever's in the car. I've seen enough wrecks to drive on the cautious side.

I often ask for forgiveness when I catch myself speeding and I DON'T get a ticket. Now, there have been times, however, where the cop was the one that needed to go home and ask for forgiveness. I've gotten my share of bogus tickets over the years, too.

You simply pay it, and stop speeding to avoid getting another.
As true Christians we are told to obey the laws of the land as long as they do not conflict with with Jehovah's laws or moral standards.
We are also told not to put our lives in danger, if we appreciate the gift of life that Jehovah gives us, then we will not be speeding around to avoid an accidents that may cause our life and the life of others.

Are you kidding? After screaming at the cop for not having anything better to do than give a good person a speeding ticket, they then go to court and claim persecution...

Speeding is not a sin... but the motivation for the speeding could be... also any bad thought against the cop...or the guy who cut you off so that you got mad and started speeding... speeding usually involves arrogance... and that is a sin

I wouldn't ask for forgiveness for a speeding ticket because I would explain to God that I was trying to meet him quicker that's all. Good luck to you in your life moving forward!

True. Scripture says, "Let everyone be subject to the governing authorities," and it IS a sin.

We Christians often ask for forgiveness for our sins "in thought, word and deed, by what we have done and by what we have left undone."

We don't believe that we have to recount every individual sin that we've ever committed, but we do ask for forgiveness of "all of our sins," and trust in Christ's resurrection for our forgiveness and atonement.

Two cars in the Toronto area were racing one night, one was going so fast that he lost control, mounted the curb, struck and killed a young woman. I bet right now that this driver's asking Someone for forgiveness, unless he doesn't believe in God which would allow him not to care.

They all do. Some ask for forgiveness for speeding; others ask for forgiveness for cursing after getting caught!

Yes, I have - mostly because the ticket was due to my being angry, and that is listed among the "seven deadly" sins because of its potential damage to human relationships. "If you hate your brother in your heart, then you have murdered him."
