I have always enjoyed holding hands and there was never a "time " regarding the number of dates involved. Holding hands with your date is a natural. In my day a young man would take your hand and it was also a way of guiding you through the crowded sreets if you were walking, let's say from the parking lot to the movie theatre or walking through people in a mall. I always felt protected when a young man would take my hand.

There really is no time table, however, if by the third date you are not comfortable with someone to be holding their hand and you were looking at this as a potential long term relationship, I might advise that you start looking elsewhere.

I hold hands on the first date if it seems to be working out. I am an affectionate person and need to be sure they are ok with it before i go further.

Why hold hands...see I think there is a time and place for holding hands...lets say you are walking by a river eating ice cream with your date..then hold hands. But please don't do it everywhere.
