yes i dip, or Chew tobacco, whatever you want to call it, and i used to smoke, thing is, its a bad habit, its not that im trying to kill myself. If i were to die tomorrow and not wake up from my sleep, would God truly send me to hell? I know it sounds cruel to do that, but all Christians know the wages of sin is death, and doing tobacco, which all users know kills you, so is this a Suicide? and if so in Gods eyes, does he understand its not our fault? that when we first tried it, we got hooked?
was tobacco around in Christs days?

It's not a sin, so you don't need to worry about it. just because you smoke. I am sure some sorts of "tobacco" was used in that time. And there is nothing saying that it's wrong.
I am addicted to chocolate, could die from diabetes later on, but who knows.

Smoking is not committing suicide but it is a sin to ruin your body consciously. I do it by overeating. The sin that I am trying to work on (gluttony). Smoking cigs, pot, doing crack, cocaine, drinking beer, hard liquor IS our fault. Yes, we become addicted to it but we can stop if we truly want to and seek help & support. It's our fault to start it and our fault not to stop it. All addictions can be stopped. The longer you are addicted the harder it is to stop. But it is still a do-able thing.
As far as knowing the wages of sin is death - we all die. Chrstians, atheists, Buddhists, Jews,... All of our bodies die. The death that the Bible is talking about is our spiritual death. Sin can lead us to hell-a spiritual death. Our soul will never see God, will never get to know Him, will never feel His love again. This death will torture us forever. So if you eat healthy, exercise, don't drink, don't smoke, don't do drugs, etc. your human physical body will still die and be buried. But your soul will be rewarded with eternal life. And in the Christian religion, we believe, as the Bible says, that When Jesus comes again, He will raise all of the dead and our souls will be reunited with our bodies (new and better bodies) and then our bodies and souls will be judged to go to hell or Heaven.

I wouldn't go to hell because I light up a pack of cigs. I would go to hell because I am sinners who has not yet made Christ my Lord and Saviour. And that goes for everyone! Smoking is not suicide, it's sin. Denying Christ is spiritual suicide. And it is your fault. No one made you start smoking and no one is making you continue to do it. So you got hooked, get unhooked. I've had bad habits worse that smoking cigs. Habits can be broken if you want them to be, everyone knows that. You have to ask yourself, "Do I really want to stop?"

"not our fault."
Before you took your very first puff, wht didn't you find out about the consequences?
It IS your fault and that admission will be your first step to ridding yourself of that nasty habit.
It is your responsibility to get un-hooked.
Yea, I know .....its hard.

"Verily I say unto you, Whatsoever ye shall bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever ye shall loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven." -- Matthew 18:18 KJV
The same is true for any addiction that you cannot cleave while you are here on earth. It will also carry you onto the afterlife, however, you may not be able to enter the gates of heaven due to the tiny "blemish" or sin of cigarette addiction.
"Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it." -- Matthew 7:13 KJV
"and we have a priceless inheritance—an inheritance that is kept in heaven for you, pure and undefiled, beyond the reach of change and decay." -- 1 Peter 1:4 KJV
So in order to enter God's kingdom, we must strive to be as pure as possible from sin, including detoxifying ourselves of addictions. Your flesh will do anything to keep that addiction bound to you, but your spirit will not want it, for it cannot enter heaven once your flesh passes. Hence, the wages of sin IS "death". "Death" really means that your spirit will be "separated" from God - the sin prevents your spirit to be ONE with Him. The only way to prevent this is to repent (beyond saying sorry - turning 180 degrees completely from all sins). Yes, God understands the weaknesses of our flesh - He came down as Jesus. But He also knows that as Jesus, He died to atone for all our sins, even addictions, so that we don't have to be "separated" from Him. God actually gave us an way to have victory over our addictions. It was Jesus. Hallelujah!

Smoking is bad for you, but we all make decisions that are bad for us. God isn't going to send you to Hell for having high cholesterol. Its about whats in your heart, and if you've accepted God.
