was the tick a deer tick nymph? Those are the only ones that can transmit lyme disease. Here is a photo:

the tick would be about the size of a poppy seed.
For now, just clean the area and apply something topical like neosporin.
Oh, testing needs to be done in about 3-6 weeks.

Find something else besides a simple tick to freak out about. Get some alcohol and apply it frequently to the area. Antibiotics are used for an infection. If you use them for everything that freaks you out (which, obviously, doesn't take much) then they will not work when you need them. AND there is the potential that the bacteria that they are used for will mutate. Now THERE is something to freak out about! Stay out of the woods....Godloveya.

see your doctor...I hope you still have the tick, actually. If you do, take it in.
if the tick just bit you there is no time for antibodies to develop, so this is where the tick comes in...if it's the right type of tick for lyme or rocky mounted spotted fever, the Dr will know. Do you live in the roccky mountain area or on the east coast..?
bottem line, just go to the doctor

No need to freak. Schedule an appointment with your doctor and have him test you for Lyme. You would be catching it very early at this stage of the game, which is a good thing. Chances are also fairly good that you won't even come up positive.
