I'm sorry. The first thing that came to my mind was a book: The Lord of the flies. But then I realized that it was also made into a movie, but I never saw it. If the movie is anything like the book it does have some religious overtones to it. Yeah.. that's what I think. Anyway, God bless.

I liked Narnia.

Of course it is hard to say at what point the overtones make it a religious movie.

Well, it's not a movie, but I believe Star Trek: Deep Space Nine had quite strong religious overtones.

Buddhist overtones can be found in many movies, but the Matrix trilogy is the biggest one that comes to mind at the moment.

The Movie has elements of afterlife, communion, Marian figure and doctrine, unity of faith, good verse evil, persecution, perseverance, trust, honor, loyalty etc etc...
