Myn boss asked me to find one for him to buy his wife and the only ones I can find are $150. I think he just wants it as a gag gift so I think a plastic one would work but I can't find them anywhere.

Go to your local High school - or college, and get with the woodshop teacher.

They will make your part and it only costs you the wood..


I'm guessing they could use plywood and attach it to the car with magnets.

well .. yes and no..

I get a catalog on a quarterly basis which has novelty and joke items. One of them is a plastic key with a huge suction cup that was designed to stick on the roof or trunk of the beetle.

Bad news is that I don't have the catalog handy now.. good news is that maybe you can use this as a lead to find one.

Also... try JCwhitney.com they have real auto parts but MAYBE they have the key too....

i bought one years ago at spencer's gifts. had a suction cup, and you could wind it up and it would look like it was running.

get one made out of cardboard cheap to do then paint it
