I am an african american 18 year old college student living in Georgia. i'm not perfect. but i try, every day i push to reach the mark that Jesus set for me. now when i look back six months ago i am a very different person than what i used to be...

Not really. I don't have a lot of expectations, and I've yet to walk on water or heal leprosy. But if you can, you should probably not tell people. They'll burn you for herecy or take you in for medical research. Either way, not fun.
As for the Jonses, they aren't all that high on my priority list either. But then, I don't know many of them.

In a way I do keep up with the Jones'--my daughter married a Jones. but as to my standard of living It is Jesus---Contentment is not justifying our wants but contentment is being thankful for what we have already.

Jesus is not my standard of living. However, my opinions on morality and 'being nice' are apparently shared by him, so in this respect yes.
