I am trying to lose weight, so, besides haveing a healthy diet, when I go to the gym I do between 45 min to an hour on the elliptical. Although it is really helping me lose weight, my thigh muscles have gotten really big. (with muscles...obviously not fat b/c they are rock solid)

What can I do to not only continue in my weight loss, but, make it so that my thigh muscles are more slender/toned, instead of muscley?

Try to switch things up! Don't use the same machine every day. Ellipticals are designed to build leg muscle as well as get your heart rate up and it sounds like your body is built to create a bigger leg muscle (so is mine and I had the same issue with ellipticals).

Try running outside now that the weather's getting nicer (or use a treadmill if you prefer that). There are also stationary bikes, ergometers (rowing machines) and swimming laps, which is excellent for all-over toning.

Make sure you stretch after your cardio. This will help lengthen the muscles, making them appear more toned.

Cut most sugar from your diet except for natural sugars from fruit, no regular soda (diet soda is ok in limited amounts of course) absolutely no fast food, no white bread or any white flour, only whole 100% grains, plenty of water, lots of vegetables, a good quality multi-vitamin supplement. Also, do 30-60 minutes of cardio 6 days a week. This is how I lost 50 lbs. I used to be a size 13/14 and now I'm a size 3/4. I promise this will work for you.
