No. But if you are a theist, and that's what will motivate you to learn more about the world around you (that you believe a deity created)- go for it.

It's fascinating, regardless of the 'why'.

The reality is that, the more learned a person is in the sciences, the less likely they are to be theists. There starts to become less and less of the world that looks like 'magic', and therefore less of a reason to believe in a creator.

It's a search for a way to accurately describe the universe. If there were a God, one would think his fingerprints would be all over the place, and would not need a scientific discipline to prove them.
