The "average" speed for a normal, healthy individual walking at a steady pace (not speed-walking, but not dawdling, either) is about 4 miles per hour, or 15 minutes per mile. Therefore, the answer to your question would be:
2 miles - about 30 minutes
1.5 miles - about 22.5 minutes
1 miles - about 15 minutes
0.5 miles - about 7.5 minutes

Both of the above are reasonably true but having been up to London on numerous occasions I would disagree and say 3 miles per hour would be more suited to the traffic and amount of people that get in ones way.

Go for protein as an alternative to sugar to keep energy levels going strong as opposed to crashing. Edamame in pods is the perfect snack since it takes some time to eat and a one-cup offering offers 12 grams of necessary protein.
