if Starbucks printed this statement on one of their cups?
"Why in moments of crisis do we ask Allah for strength and help? As cognitive beings, why would we ask something that may well be a figment of our imaginations for guidance? Why not search inside ourselves for the power to overcome? After all, we are strong enough to cause most of the catastrophes we need to endure."
Yet, Starbucks printed this statement, substituting "God" for "Allah:" http://www.worldnetdaily.com/news/article.asp?ARTICLE_ID=55564
Why is it ok to denounce the Judeo-Christian God, but not the Muslim god?

Quantrill, that's my feeling, too. Sadly, I also have a love for Starbuck's coffee, so this is a sacrifice for me. But I feel pretty strongly about this one.

Ray and Patrician, every Muslim I've ever spoken or corresponded with believes Jews and Christians worship another God than they do. The fact that "Allah" means "god" doesn't prove we're referencing the same deity.

"Shaybani," I'm "pig ignorant?" Where are you from, boy -- Alabama? I haven't heard that expression since I moved North from the deep, dark South! Read Psalm 83 and discover that the Judeo-Christian God distinguishes Himself from the Muslim god.

1. Looking inside and depending on God is the same thing. God communicates with us through a 'spot' in our heart -Sufi teaching.
2. Allah is a word used by a minority in the US. If they hadnt removed it, it would look like theyre attacking a minority, and living in a democratic country, means you protect minorities.
3. God is a word I use too as Muslim when I speak English. Because Allah is an Arabic word.
And I dont know why youre making it a big deal if Starbucks put this on its cups? If I read it, Id attribute it to the person who said it, and not Starbucks. And everyone has a right to their opinion
Plus, I rarely get affected by the things I read on a cup.

Leave all that aside, Gloria's Cafe makes better coffee IMO: Starbucks tastes bad.

Well Allah is the arabic word for God. If it is the judeo christian God muslims believe it is their God also. So basically this statement was made against muslims too.
I suppose it is considered okay because it is a democracy. Muslims just happen to yell when our religion is degraded. I think it sucks what they wrote but then again, it's a democracy. Stand up and yell if you feel this is wrong.

Well, seeing as Starbucks belongs to the Zionists, I wouldn't think they'd even consider printing anything that mentions 'Allah' on their coffee cups.
And you also said: "...Why is it ok to denounce the Judeo-Christian God, but not the Muslim god?
What is the proof that we have different God's, just because Muslim's use the name 'Allah', it doesn't make it a different God.........even Arab Christians say 'Allah'...... read this short article and educate yourself a bit more:
We all have the same God
The foundation of Islamic teaching begins with God, whom Muslims call 'Allah'. The name Allah comes from the Arabic language and literally means the one and only God, as opposed to any old god with a small 'g'.
The Qur'an itself declares that Allah is the same God that spoke to the Jews and Christians. Therefore, when Muslims speak about God, they have in mind that it is the God of Abraham, Moses, Jesus and Muhammad. Even Arab Christians, who speak the Arabic language, say 'Allah' when they talk about God. (the Spanish word for God is Dios, yet nobody makes the claim that it is a different God!)
The Qur'an states in this way:
"Tell (the Jews and Christians), 'We believe in the revelation which has come down to us {the Qur'an} and in that which came down to you {the Torah and Gospel}; Our God and your God is one; and it's to Him we surrender" (Qur'an 29:46)
Muslims prefer to use the name 'Allah' no matter what language is being spoken. This is because the proper name for the supreme deity cannot be made plural or altered in any way grammatically in Arabic.

Why do you think it is targeted at Christians? Is not Allah just another name for God? Or Jehovah?
Why does this not apply to all religions that believe in a deity?
Why do you feel the need to be personally persecuted for what is printed on the side of a cup of coffee?

"every Muslim I've ever spoken or corresponded with believes Jews and Christians worship another God than they do"
and every Jew that I know would identify more with the Muslim Allah than the Christan father son and holy ghost.

Their coffee is pretty reliable. Aren't they based in Seattle? I think that may be a bit of a free-wheeling place like San Francisco.
Still I reckon the fact that we don't go bananas at disrespectful remarks is good. The almost-censorship that has existed in the Middle East since the Middle Ages may stop disrespect of religious beliefs by intimidation, but is probably part of the mindset that has meant they have stagnated technologically and intellectually. (I think Darwin and Voltaire etc would have had to shut up or lost their heads.)

We enjoy freedom of speech but what many do not understand is that while a person is entitled to their opinion, once that opinion tumbles out of their mouth and into the world then everyone else is also entitled to an opinion of it and the person who spoke it. Starbucks is not a person it’s corporation. Like a person they are entitled to an opinion. Their opinion is no more valid then anyone else's. If their opinion is distasteful then you are not required to reward them with your patronage. There are other places to purchase coffee.
It's OK to denounce any god you like or worship what you like or denounce any practice or institution. Just understand that once you do people will judge you and form opinions about you and they have as much right to do so as you do to denounce. If you’re not prepared to suffer the consequence of stating your opinion then that’s no ones problem but yours. Starbucks can denounce god and we can denounce Starbucks. We also have a right to our opinion and the freedom to express it. Just like they do.

They are afraid that all of the Muslims may get mad for denouncing their god, and possibly cause a Jihad. They know that Christians are forgiving and many are apathetic (unfortunately) and wouldn't do a thing about denouncing their god. Rise up Christians and show America that we care, and write to the government to express your opinions!

Muslim do believe The God Almighty, Allah is the Creator , Provider, Sustainer, Master, of universes, and every living and nonliving things in/on universes.
As creator gave us wisdom and with that wisdom we can utilize our strengths to cope up our ill or sick desires. As a human we can use strength given by The God Almighty to overcome problems. God Almighty gave us choice, how to use our strength , and where to use our strength. Or we can use our ill or sick desires on top of our good choices.
What ever we will do we will use from given by The God Almighty. But choice will be ours, and on the bases of our choice we will select heavens or hell.
It does not matter what starbuck says, but it matters what God Almighty wants from us. And people who submits themselves to The will of God Almighty only care what The God Almighty ask from us as Prophets preached.
We should prey to God Almighty give us wisdom to spend our life in positive way, and keep us from evil desires.Amen.
