Of course people knew this. In fact most people ONLy pray when in desperation when they realized that they could not handle it on their own. They have what I call a 911 relationship with God.

Only call on him when it is an emergency.

The prayer that works the best is Please lord fill every cell in my being with love let love/kindness flow through my whole body let me radiant love/fellowship/kindness/empathy. when I walk into the room let those around me know that I choose the love path. Let them feel my joy of the thought of my soon (any lifetime is only a blink)departure from this world and back to father.
amen

I do it alot in my life. I remember running to my church once and falling to my knees in front of the alter and begging Jesus to grant me confort as I was going through an especially troubling time.

I knew this and have done it ... doesn't do or change anything except making the person praying feel better. I don't believe anybody on the other end cares one way or the other.

I know that I can pray about anything. When I am frustrated, I pray............when sad, when gloriously happy.............I don't just ask for help. I remember to give thanks, daily.
