Yes and no....Acting schools give you the tools and techniques, but not the talent. If you have the talent, then the schools may help you to make valuable contacts. Fame actually comes from popularity, so there is really no formula for that. My son is 7 and has already been in 2 movies and on a #1 series. He just fell into it and only took one session of classes at a local John Robert Powers branch. They did bring in agents regularly for the students to audition for, but the actor still had to "bring it". As an adult, it is also important to be in the right areas, NY, LA, etc. Try these websites...they are legitimate castings for actors. Oh, and Good Luck!!!(that's a major component as well)

It helps you learn technique you may or may not use, but may come in handy.
Best school is the stage and being noticed for a standout performance. It's easier for a standup comic to do drama than for a dramatic actor to do comedy. Julia Roberts had a huge flop on Broadway.
Billy Bob Thornton is a failed musician who succeeded at writing, directing and was a support actor for years. Russell Crowe wanted to be a musician more than an actor but had better luck in acting. Colin Farrell auditioned to be in a boy band. Bruce Willis was a bartender. Vin Diesel was a bouncer. I think some jobs you may have can help when you audition for a role. Secretary experience helped Jenna Fischer get the job in "The Office",and based it on people she worked with as well as her own time in the cube.
Some of the best actors on stage and in film are the character actors and co-stars more than the stars.

You can become an Actor whenever you want. or becoming an actor, you need a lot of skills which you may develop through courses bt there is always that talent or creativity from within that should guide and mould you into the perfect charcter you want to be. Becoming an actor can be said to be an easy task according to many, but the dedication, determination and energy you should be giving for achieving your dream is way more than most of the proffession, mostly because it takes a lot of time to get that fame n respect you deserve, the roles you wish to enact, or even getting yourself into the industry or under the spot light. Also, there will be many to disregard, undeer appreciate, over see and criticize you ruthlessly. SO you need to believe in yourself and never give up. So keep trying, and mayb we'll see on our screens someday =)

In short, No. They help you keep your acting muscles exercised but you have to go out and get yourself an agent. You have to work on your material, you have to win over the auditors, it's all you. Going to classes and workshops are a good place to start if you don't have a clue what to do. Some have agents or casting directors come in and critique you or even come looking to cast a project so you never know.

schools teach whatever subject the students apply for, but whether or not the student becomes famous or not is up to the student and fate.

Not neccessarily - I've been going to a theatre school for a while now and I haven't been discovered. :( It depends whether or not you go for auditions, or if agents come to the theatre school.
