Eat fruits as much as you like (without dressings), eat steamed or raw vegetables with oil (dont avoid fats), eat regularly slow-release sugars (peas and oat are my favorite), and extremly minimize fast release carbohydrates. Avoid potatos, rice, bread (instead you can eat boiled whole wheat etc.), and minimize pasta. Drink a lot of water, cofee, cocoa, green tea, (and other teas) no sugar added, you may use sweetners, Stevia recomended as healthier. Walk and dance when you can it's relaxing, you don't have to excersize. And you can eat meat. Mostly fish (sea), then chicken, then beef and last - pork. Actually, while eating the above things, you'll feel that the pork is not that tasty as you thought before. (The taste gradually changes with this style of living).
Since you work that much hours aweek, you should have a fruit every hour, have cans of some kind of fish there, buy some yogurt before you go to work, keep some nuts there. Eat frequently at work and also drink a lot of liquids. Don't go for lunch, and do not allow to be too much hungry.

you work 54 hours a week??? Really?? WTF??
Honestly with that much work and not working out, it'll be crazy hard. I'd start with a new job. Either that, or cut back your expenses if you have to work that much to pay the bills.
Eat a lot of fruit through the day. Apples and grapefruit are really good for curbing hunger. Dont eat any bread or pasta after lunch time. And stay away from processed food or fast food whenever you can, especially regular sugary soda.

The key is moderation. You can still eat what you want, but only eat 1/2 or 3/4 of the amount you would normally eat. That way, you still get what you want, but with far fewer calories.
I've been dieting, mostly like that, for about a year and have lost around 50 lbs.

find calorie/fitness calculator on the net, enter all your stats and it will tell you how many calories you need a day to maintain, take off 300-400cal off that number and thats how much you need to lose.
eat 5-6 small meals a day (eat every 2-3 hours)
5-8 servings of fruit and veggies a day
8 glasses of water
have complex carbs for breakfast - they give you energy
have lean meat (protein) for dinner - repairs muscle
cardio exercise 4-6 times a week for 30-50min, light weight training
dont consume foods that are made of white flour (white bread, cakes, past etc.), sugar loaded foods (cookies, icecream, candy etc) and nothing fried, oily.
ofcourse you can spoil yourself once in a while with a little treat:)

You don't sound terribly overweight to me, either. But if you want to lose weight, I promise a couple of changes will change your life.
First, just stop eating sugar and white flour. Check labels for the carbohydrate content of everything. Avoid anything with a high number, this will send your blood sugar level soaring and make you crave more and tell your body to store fat. The first couple of weeks, you will feel awful, and you will probably crave sugar. Make sure you eat when you are hungry, not wait till you are starving. Then make sure you eat lots of fresh veggies, protein, with some cheese.
