On this earth, everyone who stands for something is going to go through this.
I believe in the God of the Bible, and do you know what it gets me? Harsh judgment. I'm told that I'm an illogical imbecile without an ounce of gray matter to work with. I'm told that I'm what's wrong with America, when all I ask for is the freedom to believe what I want to believe in, and that same freedom for everyone else.
You're not the only one, sweetheart.

You/We are judged so harshly because deep down in the back of Their minds they know that it doesn't make sense, so the more people that they get onto their side, the better they feel about their faith. And of course the more money their church encrues the better and then there's THAT power thing for some. Having an audience can be a real buzz for some people.
But I'd say that the real dirtbags that you have met are probably just bullies as I've met some really nice Christians.
BTW, I'm a good person and I really don't want to believe! :))

I am a Christian and I think that Christians also get the raw end of the deal from unbelievers..... Such as why is it that just because one parent who didn't believe was able to deny all students in public schools from saying a prayer. Look I know plenty of nonbelievers who are good people some are in my own family. I find it personally easier to know that when I leave this world I get to be in a better place with no pain or suffering and no one in need, rather than believe that when I leave this world there is nothing else there. Believe what you want but know this ok, I'll keep you in my prayers that no one judge you because you don't believe and that instead they just show you love and compassion because no one is to judge another that is God's Job. God Bless!

It's easy to /say/ you believe, whether you do or not, and, I think, a lot of people do just that. It's good to be honest with yourself and your peers, even if it means that some people might react negatively. Like you, I don't believe. Unlike you, I don't particularly want to. My 'personal journey of self discovery' led me to the conclusion that I'm simply not capable of faith - I'll question anything, and even that which is proven beyond doubt, I merely accept as true.
Lack of belief in a God or religion (or, as in my case, in anything at all), doesn't mean lack of morality, it just means that morality is a matter of personal conscience, not religious dogma.
I don't think that true believers are kept in line soley by the threat of hell, either - there's just a lot more to most religions than just that. Some might obsess about it, and there are certainly people in the religious sales biz that harp on it, but that's not all there is. If someone truely believes in a benevolent creator-god, they'll try to do what that god reveals to them as the right thing, not just out of fear of punishment, but out of a desire to do good.

Well, How about just praying.. Ok, you say you do not believe, so if you want to prove it to yourself once and for all.. just try it.. In a quiet place, clear your mind, and pray with a sincere heart, Pray that God reveals himself to you, Pray for an understanding. Pray for an open heart.
I only feel sorry for you because you do not know him. No matter how horrible you think some Christians are, they do have something that obviously you don't. They have a refuge during the storm, they know where to seek peace and guidance. They know where they are going when this life is over.

God will do the judging, not me. All I can do is tell you about the Lord and let you make your own choice. But there are only two answers. 1 you truly believe in our Lord Jesus Christ or 2 You don't. It has nothing to do with being nice or good. Many good and nice people will find out one day that they made the wrong choice.

expensive Mike G., The Bible provides the answer on your question. look at a million Peter 4:17. We study there, "For the time is come that judgment ought to start up on the abode of God: and if it first start up at us, what shall the best be of them that obey no longer the gospel of God?" This verse is telling us that judgment starts with those who call themselves "Christians" or say that they are saved. those human beings have get acceptable of entry to to the Bible so that they could truly study and study God's be conscious. they are more effective responsible because they have the reality-the understand God. And almost each and every individual in u . s . a . can get a Bible on the ordinary public library or purchase one from a bookshop. I do not ignore that some communities supply away Bibles also. in spite of the indisputable fact that, human beings in overseas international places like Iraq, Egypt, etc. should be positioned to demise for having a Bible of their possession. even as the iron curtain got here down in Russia, human beings there have been so satisfied to get carry of their very personal replica of the Bible! So in result, those those who've had a Bible are judged more effective significantly than those who under no circumstances observed or heard the Bible because the expensive understand God had under no circumstances gotten to them. Oh, by the way, the church age led to 1988. God is now no longer making use of any nearby church homes to carry on the Gospel. in case you study 2 Thessalonians 2 you'll discover devil is now ruling in each and each and every of the nearby church homes. back, those who've Bibles must have favourite this. Please study Revelation 18, the completed chpater yet particularly verse 4. The church homes have change into Babylon. God makes use of this be conscious to envision with the dominion of devil. also look at Matthew 24:15. 16 it really is telling the real believers to get out of the church and pass on to Christ. once you study the Bible it really is like sitting on the ft of Jesus.

For me, it's easy to understand God from the perspective of the vastness of the universe. Further, science for the most part, supports the notion of God. That we evolved from monkeys doesn't hold water, and that is not to say evolution doesn't happen because it does. The events around Jesus Christ's life are supported by Roman records of the day; Pilot knew who Jesus was. There are more data supporting God than not. It's a matter of research.

i would like to believe to but there is really no hardcore evidence and logically it doesnt make since the most obviouse answer to me is that the afterlife is no different than beforelife which to most people i think this thought is to scary to comprehend and process in a way that they can be happy in day to day life plus when a loved one passes its sad to think that they dont exist anymore i guess im trying to say they act that way because they are scared it has not got anything to do with you whether they realize it or not their
persacution of you for your beliefs comes from theyre fear of not knowing but wanting to be reassured the fact that you dont believe does not give them reassurance
all you have to do is look through the history books how many different gods have ruled this earth since the dawn of mankind and everyone of them was produced to explain a something that man was unable explain
PS
The world is flat not round

It makes me sad too.
As I have stated a million times my husband is athiest. He has honor, something I can't always say for believers of any religion. He would never cheat, because he told me that would be cheating on the kids too. He cant' do that. He would die for our kids. He would so anything for them. He helps those he can. Can he be selfish? Sure can't we all? Does he lack morals. NO! He is the best daddy in the world to our kids. That has nothing to do with faith and everything to do with who you are.
Don't listen to ppl who tell you that you are going to hell. Be a good person. A true God will judge you on your soul, not which book you followed. Or if you didn't follow any at all.
