I didn't see the fight but I heard a lot about it leading up to the event this past weekend.

it didn't live up to the expectation because mayweather didn't bring anything to the ring that he said he would during all of his sh#t talk.
i thought the fight was pathetic, uneventful, and way too controvercial.
it would have been better if the winner was more obvious, and not this split decision bull crap, although i am glad that it was a split decision.... at least that proves that de la hoya could have won this fight, and would probably win a rematch.

few boxing fights live up to the hype if ever, insiders knew that with mayweathers defensive style it would be a very boring fight with delahoya chasing floyd throughout, mayweather usually waits until about round 9 to start exchanging, but even at that he still is not fun to watch, and is the reason he'll never be the greatest in the heart of boxing fans

Jordan F nailed it on the head. There is no way to live up to that hype. I thought the fight was very good, definitely one of the best fights I have ever watched.

It went exactly as I envisioned it. I am very familiar with Floyd Mayweather as he is from very close to where I live. I have followed him throughout much of his career. He makes everybody fight his fight.

A rematch would likely result in at worst split decision for Floyd. I do believe these guys could fight 10 times and Oscar will never hurt him more than he did Saturday night.

There is nothing that could have happened to live up to the hype. That being said, it is always a joy to watch a warrior like DeLahoya give his heart the way he did. Floyd Mayweather proved once again that there is no doubt that he is the best pound for pound fighter in the world. Mayweather picked Delahoya apart in the last four rounds of this fight. There is no reason to see this fight again as DelaHoya was overmatched and outclassed.

Now come on people did you really expect a great fight here. This was not even close, but thats what you get when you put an old fighter that lost 2 of his last three ( make that 3 of his last 4 now) against the pound 4 pound champ and try to tell everyone it's going to be great,
If you look past the advertizing no one would have expected anything different, This was just a way for Oscar to make 20 million

Of all time, it must be Louis/Schmeling II, and Artie is appropriate Ali/Frazier replaced into additionally a monster, yet for various reasons. in extra moderen situations Hearns/Hagler, Leonard/ Hearns, Leonard/Hagler and Leonard/Duran have been massive, as replaced into Holyfield/Tyson. on the instant, there are few modern-day boxing attracts well worth any hype, Pacquiao and Calzaghe have genuine looking followings, yet no longer something like the old days.

All I know is that there wasn't any blood, brusing or anything that was good about it. It was more of a technical fight I really didn't enjoy it.
