so let's say you're in an agency and you get photo shoots. what else would you have to do be in the "real" modeling business? do you have to wait for someone to ask for you? or you offer your portfolio like a sort of audition?

any info about it would be of much help. thanks =)

Even if you have an agency you can still self-submit. Even if you find the work yourself, your agency will still be entitled to their cut. If you have a good agency, they should be able to get plenty of work for you.

Agencies get requests from clients for a certain type of model for whatever project they're working on (fashion show, print ad campaign, commercial etc.) and the agency then sends out models they have that fit that type on "go-sees" or auditions depepding on the type of job. The clients meet the models, audition them or maybe look at their photos, and maybe hire some. If you're more well known, they may ask for you by name but you have to be pretty well known.

well u could do both. im a A&F model and they found me vuz my brother models for the too and they thought i would make a good model. so im not really sure what u would do... a lot of places have like casting calls.. but it sorta depends on how old u are.
