I had quite a long day writing up my assignment for an end-of-year module. I've been awake since 10:30 when I had my breakfast and settled down to work. I hadn't eaten all day until about 15 minutes ago, but I noticed when I stood up, I had a head rush and had to sit back down for a minute. Also, I was trembling. My breakfast was a cup of coffee, (with two spoonfuls of sweetner) with two buttered crumpets.
I want to know what happened, why was I like this? I'm still kind of trembling now; my hands are all shakey.
I'm average height, around 168cm, and my weight is around 70kg.

stress, to much sugar and not enough "real food". At least eat some fruits. When I am studying for school, I like to eat fruits cause it's better to eat healthy. ALSO!! Do not drink coffee on an empty stomach! It WILL cause ulcers!! My boyfriend got them from drinking coffee and pop on an empty stomach and he started to throw up blood!! It could also be that you have ulcers!! But that is more of a stomach ach symptom, be happy, be healthy!

It could be many things. Have you been to your doctor lately for a basic physical? It could be that the caffeine is giving you a rush, not eating Will make you dizzy, blood sugar could be too high or too low, in this case, etc. Caffeine on an empty stomach is not too good. See how you feel after having lunch and later, dinner. If you still have symptoms, go to the doctor ASAP. Good luck and God Bless!

Sounds like hypoglycaemia (low blood sugar). When you stood up and had head rush, your blood pressure probably dropped (postural hypotension).
Low blood sugar would be caused by you not eating enough and therefore your blood sugar dropped. If you haven't had much to drink, then this can cause low blood pressure.
I know what its like to get stuck into essays etc, but try and have breaks and make sure you eat and drink enough.
If these symptoms persist even with you eating and drinking normally, see your GP. Otherwise, try not to worry.

Your levels of blood sugar have dropped throughout the day because you have not eaten.
This is why you feel trembly and shaky.
Get something to eat and drink and relax.
Your blood sugar levels should start to rise again in about 30mins.

Low sugar, perhaps low blood pressure which would make you dizzy after quickly standing up if you had been seated for a long time.....Its best to get up and move around after say and hour or so or you also risk DVT like you would on an aeroplane on a long flight.
Take it easy

Eat an apple quickly. Then eat something with slow-release sugars like an oatmeal, or if you are at home I strongly recomend steamed peas, corn and carrots together with salt and oil - it's tasty and will help a lot. You can sit there and do your brainwork as long as you did. However, eat some apples from time to time...

You have low sugar. Eat a few pieces of hard candy or a soda and the feeling should go away. After you have stabilized, eat something starchy like a potato and it will help regulate your sugar the rest of the day. Good luck!

You didn't eat enough or often enough. You experienced low blood-sugar. You should eat something small every 2-3 hours. If you do, you will never feel this again.

If you are concerned enough to ask this question, then you should be asking a doctor. Go see one! This could be low blood pressure, hypoglycemia or diabetes. Don't trust medical answers to people cruising the web.
