Im visiting here and I really wanna see Brighton beach everyone keeps telling me its not safe to go thru brooklyn . If its ok then which route should i take from the bronx?

Anything has a risk to it. Do it, thousands of people do everyday.

I did it for 10 years, nothing ever happened. Don't be one of those people that frolics around with your purse in the open, however.

It is safe enough to go through Brooklyn on the subway during the day.

How to get there depends on when you are going.

If you are going during a weekday, then the B train or Q train are the way to go as they run on the Brighton line. Just get off at the Brighton Beach station. The B is a local in the Bronx and Manhattan but is express in Brooklyn while the Q is express in Manhattan and local in Brooklyn.

If you are going on a weekend you'll have to pick up the Q at either 42nd St/Times Square (if you ride the numbered lines) or 34th St/6th Av (if you can get the D train). This is because the B doesn't run on weekends.
