...that you have been hornswaggled? That you didn't pay attention in school? That you were conditioned to ignore reason and logic at a very early age, not in all arenas, but anytime your ancestral imaginary friend is involved? Drop your arrogance and realize that you have 10 fingers, apes have 10 fingers; you reproduce sexually, all the other mammals do too; they live for a time and die, and so do you, so you should LIVE that way!

"Christians, wouldn't it be safer to just believe". Safer than what? Give us the comparison. maybe you didn't know that your wording required a choice. Maybe you aren't as smart as you make yourself out to be. Maybe because I could see that you sound a bit slow, Christians aren't as stupid as you think they are.. Jim

Safer in what way? I don't feel that I am in any real danger by believing that man was created by God for a purpose.

Is it more reasonable to believe that we evolved from lower form of primate when there is no evidence of that? Is it logical to believe that the earth came about because of some cosmic accident that just "happened"?

Just because we share similar characteristics does not mean we are related or descendents of other mammals. There is no evidence to support that.
The evidence that is often cited only indicates adaptation of species within the species, not outside of it. There is no "missing' link. And evolution, by definition should be continuing even now. If we came about by evolution, why is it not continuing? Why aren't apes having human babies? And if evolution was correct, then the former "inferior" species would die off (natural selection) and only the more recently evolved species would remain. How is it that man and the apes continue to exist?

Why don't you drop YOUR arrogance and realize that your understanding of Christianity is incomplete if you think that it shrugs off logic and intellect. On the contrary, it takes a much larger leap of faith to believe that man descended from apes. There is no proof to sustain that belief. That is why it's called the THEORY of evololution. A THEORY by definition, has not been proven. Just because you choose to believe it (without proof) does not MAKE it true.

Our bodies, our world, our very exisitance points to an intelligent creator. One with purpose and intellect.
If you want to believe that our existance is an accident and that when you die you become nothing more than worm chow...go right ahead. But do not assume for one minute that just because someone else does not subscribe to your same beliefs that they are unreasonable and illogical.

If you want to have a better understanding of the Christian Faith, I suggest you read the book Bruce and Stan's Guide to God. It's out of print but you can purchase it on Amazon.com pretty cheap.

After you have thoroughly investigated the reasons why Christians believe what they believe, perhaps you will be able to recognize your own arrogance.

well considering that I was raised by atheist's I would fine your statement too be completely untrue and what they call in school an opinion, rather then a fact.

Also How do you explain scientist claiming every human on earth coming from the same dna, that doesn't exactly fit into the evolution theory now does it?

Maybe you believe everything you read in your small town newspaper because in school you were conditioned to believe everything you heard in the newspaper and in science class, rather then having a brain of your own.

Safer no, easier yes.

We could sit around and veg with a cig about to fall out of our mouth. Not have a thought in our head and die.

I prefer to think, reason and discern my surroundings. Realize if my couch was made by Bassett, the planet must be made by someone as I know I paid for my couch to be in my living room.

It would make sense if "safety" were, or were the driving force behind any belief system--and it isn't.

What would change or be different as it relates to living for a while and dying if one were to admit to what you suggest that others admit to? I think nothing.

I do, however, believe that any and most belief systems of a religious or spiritual nature speak of how we need to treat our fellow man in the course of our life. Do other animals and mammals who we share similar physiology, reproductive methods, and life cycles with have any such similar "practices and disciplines" that they share, teach each other?

You covered the period of our lives while we are here in this world. What of 'other worlds'--prior to and following this one? What do our animal brethern teach of this?

?

Regards,
