The word "dorogoy" in Russian ??!?

Question

Does dorogoy/darogaya means something expensive or for calling someone that you like and who is nice. Can you give me some examples/sentences using these words !

And does miliy/milaya have more than 1 meaning too?

There is a Russian movie title that explains it all :

"Milyy, dorogoy, lyubimyy, edinstvennyy... "

Literal English title : "Dear, Dearest, Beloved, Unique... "

"Dorogoy" means "dearest", "beloved", but also "valuable".

"Dorogoy : Valuable / dorogoi : expensive, dear"

Dorogoy or dorogaya can mean both what you've said. It's expensive, and also means darling, or honey (when it comes for the person)

For example,
1. this shirt is expensive - Eta rubashka dorogaya!
2. What an expensive wallet! - Kakoy dorogoy bumazhnik (or wallet)
3. Darling, i love you! - Dorogaya\Dorogoy ya lyublyu tebya!
4. and we often use it in the beginning of the letters, even official ones - Like Dear Mr.Blah - Dorogoy Mr.Blah.... or Dorogaya Mr.Blah

And about miliy and milaya - meanings could be:

Miliy/Milaya have many meanings also. but mostly we us it to express our feelings to someone or what do we think about something.
