Apostasy and condemnation of terrorism??

Question

Why do those who attack Islam ignore the Quran but follow hadith? The number one rule when reading ANY hadith is if it goes with the Quran. The following hadith is weak (first disqualifier), but also goes against the Quran. The Quran in many places commands muslims to leave those who apostasize alone to enjoy this earth for they will get what they earned in the end. It also says to live in peace with those who have not fought you and all of that. Can those who attack please explain why you ignore what the Quran says in preference of hadith? I know the terrorists do the same, but the majority of us (muslims) are ticked off that they're ruining our image and using our name to commit acts of cowardice. Oh, yeah, and if you condemn terrorism, give a shout out :)

"Whoever changes his religion, kill him." (Reported by al-Bukhaari, 3017).

4:137 "Those who believe, then reject faith, then believe (again) and (again) reject faith, and go on increasing in unbelief,- Allah will not forgive them nor guide them nor guide them on the way."

How can someone become an apostate again and again if they are killed the first time?

15:2-3 "Again and again will those who disbelieve, wish that they had bowed (to God's will) in Islam. LEAVE THEM ALONE, to enjoy (the good things of this life) and to please themselves: let (false) hope amuse them: soon will knowledge (undeceive them)."

109:1-6 "Say : O ye that reject Faith! I worship not that which ye worship, Nor will ye worship that which I worship. And I will not worship that which ye have been wont to worship, Nor will ye worship that which I worship. To you be your Way, and to me mine."

Unforuntately extremists never try to understand the context. The Quran says:
27:92 "And to rehearse the Qur'an: and if any accept guidance, they do it for the good of their own souls, and if any stray, say: 'I am only a Warner.'"

It is not our job to force our beliefs upon others. I dont understand how they can ignore so many verses out of the Quran and follow a single hadith that is also weak

I'm sorry sister, but who told you that this hadith is weak? You may think that it is cruel, but it actually conforms with Islam and the teachings of the Qur'an. What you and many people dont understand is the explanation of this hadith, and what Shariah has to say about the topic of apostasy. This quote on its own does not make sense. But if you explored Shariah fully and more carefully, you would see that it categorizes apostates into 3 kinds:

1- indifferent apostates: they leave Islam for another religion, remaining passive about their conversion
2- active apostates: they leave Islam and then badmouth it and bash it to taint its image for others (i.e. to deter them from accepting or tolerating Islam)
3- hostile apostates: they actively fight Muslims and Islam

Only in case #3 are Muslims allowed to kill the Mortad; but even then, a peaceful resolution is preferred.

As to why Muslims kill apostates (e.g. Muslims who leave Islam to become Christians): they do so because:
1- they misinterpret Shariah and Islam
2- they have their own agendas (e.g. power)
3- Like any religion, feelings of superiority and exclusivism override tolerance. So an "us versus them" mentality develops: "if you re not a Muslim, then you re against us; and thus, we have the right to kill you" (which is of course absolutely wrong!)

The problem is not with non-muslims but with muslims themselves. On this matter, its not just the terrorist that are interpreting islam this way. Most major islamic nations even moderate ones like Malaysia have apostasy laws that mandates punishment for Apostasy and death for insulting islam.

So, you are just one person to decide what islam is and what islam is not? While you can go along with your own version of islam, others that follow the real islam, the islam of Muhammed decides to disagree with you.
