How often do I need to grease my chain? I travel about 6 miles/day on my bike. Also, is there anything else I should be looking at? Besides tire pressure?

I disagree. there is such thing as over lubricating. Ever see a chain so gunked up with dark sludge because every speckle of dirt sticks to it? That's over lubed. You want to degrease your chain periodically and relubricate. Go to a bike shop and purchase a can of degrease and a good quality bike lubricant. I prefer the dry telfon lubes because they provide good protection and do not attract dirt.

Use a quality lube like Pedros Dry which is available at real bike shops. In addition to the tire pressue, Make sure your brakes are smooth, not sticky, and give a solid feel when you use them.
Where the fork mounts into the bike frame there are two bearings. Grip your front brake and push pull the bike back and forth. If you feel a 'clunk' you need to have your headset tightened. If you leave it loose, this is an indication that the fork might not be firmly attached which could lead to a serious crash.

Make sure all the spokes are tight. A loose spoke could allow the wheel to sudddenly 'pop' into a potato chip shape ( known as 'taco') This too, could make you crash.

i use Finish Line Krytex wax lube on my chain and i love it. my advice is that you buy a bottle ($5) and apply at the end of the day after 2 days of riding. it doesnt take a lot, but let it sit overnight, then wipe off any excess in the morning or whenever you leave.

tire pressure should be between 45-55psi (or 100-120psi for road bikes) in most cases. look at the sidewalls on your tires for a specific pressure.

check all the bolts on your bike. things like stem and headset like to wiggle loose if you ride a lot, so keep 'em tight and they wont give you any problems.

if you have quick release wheels, makes sure they are seated properly and the levers are tight. if you have solid axles, make sure they are on tight.

To be safe you should grease the chain once a month even if you don't use you bike. There is no such thing as over-lubricating.
