Bought a trailer to haul furniture. I think the hitch on the truck sits to high, for the trailer to come down easy on the ball. I think they have hitches that drop some . Would this help?

The trailer should sit fairly level when hooked up. If the angle is too great it will cause binding. A drop hitch is probably in order.

Try the simple fix first. Grease the ball, that helps a ton espically on a tight ball. It'll also keep the ball and hitch from squeaking when going through corners. Also take a look up into the hitch see if something is bent or out of adjustment. Your trailer will have a bolt made just for that occasion.

You can try putting a trailer hitch ball that's not attached to anything in the hitch and see if it goes in easily. If it does, you'll know the answer.

Make sure the ball is the right size.
