Muhammed is an antichrist prophet, in that he denies the Father & the Son & the cross... He also says he is the Comforter who Jesus promised after Jesus ascended. But the Bible has the Holy Spirit as the promised comforter. For the Holy Spirit comes from God, and is in us who are born of Him. The Holy Spirit knows the things of God and the inner most being of us. Mohammed isn't the promised comforter either.

Muslems, likes Christians and Jews, extend the word "prophet" to mean one who speaks the word and mind of God. Some prophecies to look to future events, but not all. So a person can "prophesy" without predicting the future.

prophet is one of those words used to discribe a type of person in the past..that may or may not be like people in todays world called a prophet.
words change over time, also a word in one language may not even have a word close to it in another.
If you could go back to england during the early middle ages..you would think everyone was talking gibberish...it, in fact was english.
It is just that over a couple hundred years, the english language changed alot.
Hope that helps

I am not a believer of the Islam faith, I am Christian...
...but I can answer. The word prophet does not always refer to one who foretells the future. It often simply refers to a teacher. Or more properly, a reformer.
For example, in the New Testament of the Christian Bible, when Paul refers to prophesy amongst the gifts of the spirit, he is referring to pastoral/apostolic ministry.

Muhammad and his trusty camel rode up Mt Sinai that fast that they flew all the way to Jerusalem and back in one night.
It is no myth you know and I like to get that camel and enter it in the Next Melbourne Cup there mate.

A Prophet is someone chosen by God to reveal God's Message and bring guidance to mankind.
So Muhammad was among those thousands throughout time who were chosen by God for such a task......thus, he is a Prophet

A prophet is someone whom God speaks to. Muhammed claimed that the arch angel Gabriel spoke to him in a dream and says that God to him all this stuff. but is he a prophet really? no. Because he and that religion do not believe in the basics of God or the Bible. They dont believe Jesus is the son of God or believe in the Trinity ( God the father, God the son and God the Holy Spirit)

A prophet is a person who delivers a message. A prophecy is a message delivered, it doesn't have to be a preminition to be called a prophecy although that's mostly the way the word is used. A prophet is a deliverer of a devine message.

He used to rally an entire army around a city and prophesied that if they didn't accept living peaceably under his rule that he would level it to the ground and sell everyone he didn't kill in the city to slavery.
