Are the illegals a problem in Sacramento? Are the wages low? What are the family oriented communities?

Sacramento, as with most large cities, has good and bad neighborhoods. You should try one of the nearby suburbs, as suburbs are ideal to raise children in. I'm from a nice suburb with a good education system called Elk Grove, but other ones include Roseville and Wilton (which is pretty rural). Try not to locate in areas like a Lodi and Galt. Although it is impossible to keep track of illegals, I think most illegals would locate in the poorer areas. The minimum wage is $7.50 an hour. I think the Sacramento suburbs are ideal places to raise children.

Sacramento is best known as the Big Town with a Small Town Attitude. It is one of the best places in the country to raise children. It has been hailed as such by several national magazines over the years. Another magazine (I believe Time, but I'm not sure) named Sacramento as the most integrated city in the US. So there likely are some illegal aliens there, but it's not a problem. If you stay out of Oak Park, an unfortunately crime ridden area, you should be fine. But we all know that crime is everywhere, so your experience with it will be individual. Wages depend on your industry and experience, as everywhere.
I just answered another question about what to do in Sacramento, so if you do a search for it, you will have plenty to start with, and my email address for more information.

Sacramento is a great place to live, east sac is lovely though I grew up in Oak Park(which ain't as bad as people think like at all). I went to school in east sac (David Lubin Elementary and Sutter Middle School) and am attending West Campus High School in the Lemon Hill area. All three schools are ranked high up in the best schools in the state, West Campus being the second best high school in California or something around there, and Sutter also being high up there, not sure about David Lubin though it was a great school nonetheless. As for entertainment and such there's not much, but we do have two water parks and the Arden Fair Mall. Personally I grew up going to Old Sac almost daily, and it's just amazing. Sacramento has a lot of history and Old Sac is part of that. The downtown mall ain't even worth mentioning( due to the recession half there stores closed down) but it has like Bath&Body Works, the food court, a movie theatre, a Hyundai car store, Starbucks, and a few others but other than that there's not much. Sacramento also is on two rivers, which is great for the summer. Sacramento has an almost perfect climate( in my opinion at least) and is in a great location

If you don't mind 100+ degree weather in the summer months.

Good areas are: Elk Grove, Greenhaven, South Land Park, Natomas, Antelope, Carmichael has some good areas.

Wages aren't too low, but housing is too high. Lots of people commute from Roseville because the houses cost too much in town.

there are nice places in sacramento but the crime is getting so bad there. definately avoid north highlands. everyday on the news there is another shooting or people killed from street racing. the wages are lower because the cost of housing is lower.30 miles further east in the foothills is much nicer.

The illegals? you're ******* dumb. stay in small town usa... because if you move to a big city with your ignorant state of mind, you won't like big cities.
