Someone who doesn't believe in Heaven and Hell, only to find out they DO exist when you die.

As far as pascals wager goes...how does one waste their life by pray?

Besides, you don't know my stance or belief, so why would you attack it?

I just simply asked you a question.

I've heard that having a close relationship with God through pray makes you a better person who wants to do good and make the earth a better place. How is this wasteful or not a good thing?

1) What does the unbeliever have to lose if he/she is wrong?

2) What does the believer have to lose is he/she is wrong?

Persnoally, I've seen plenty of evidence, and am a believer, but--hypothetically, of course--even if it turned out I was wrong, I'd have missed nothing! Good question!

yet another example of the intellectual dishonesty that goes here. You present that as if those were the only two choices there are. There are other possibilities. Surely you are aware of the other possibilities like say, someone who doesn't believe in heaven or hell, and they DON'T exist when they die. Why did you present that as the only two choices. You weren't PURPOSELY being deceitful, were you?

Or someone who believes in Heaven and Hell, just to find out they believed in the wrong heaven and hell and wrong god (out of the tens of thousands to choose from) when they die.

Or someone who believes in the correct heaven and hell, just to find out that they are not admitted to heaven because the omniscient god understands that the someone only believed as a way to game the system.

Cheers!

Hmmm...let's see: Believe on earth, live an exciting life then die and it get's even better for an eternity. Versus unbelief on earth, live an exciting life then die and it's the worst thing you can ever experience for an eternity. I'll take "A." ;-)

I am someone who believes in Heaven and Hell, so I'd rather be the first one.

The first option is more comfortble, don't you think, because there would still be something there: otherwise the person would not be able to have those thoughts.
The second option would be a real bummer though :)

Sláinte!

Pascal's Wager.

*drink*

I'm not even going to bother pointing out how much this question insults your God. I will let you insult Him as much as you wish. I'm agnostic. I don't care what you say about Him.

Why would you try to convince someone to believe in Jesus by trying to create fear?

What if YOUR faith was based upon the idea that you're believing in God "just in case..."

Is that true faith? No. It's not. It's a useless waste of time.

Give it up. It doesn't work that way.
